Meridian Daily offers clear reporting on the world, technology and everyday life. We are an independent digital publication that helps curious, busy readers understand the stories shaping their lives, without the noise, spin or sensationalism that too often fills the modern news feed.

Our Mission

We believe good journalism should be accurate, readable and useful. Every story we publish aims to answer three simple questions: what happened, why it matters and what it means for you. We explain complex subjects in plain language, provide context that goes beyond the headline and point readers to original sources so they can dig deeper on their own.

We are committed to fairness and transparency. We distinguish clearly between news reporting, analysis and opinion, we correct our mistakes openly and we tell readers how we work. Our standards are set out in full in our Editorial Policy and Corrections Policy.

Our Story

Meridian Daily was founded in 2019 in San Diego, California, by a small group of journalists and editors who wanted to build a news site that respected its readers' time and intelligence. What began as a weekly technology and science newsletter has grown into a daily publication covering eight sections and reaching readers around the world.

Our name reflects our approach. A meridian is a line that connects one pole to the other, passing through every latitude along the way. We aim to connect global events to everyday experience, linking what happens in parliaments, laboratories and boardrooms to the decisions people make at home, at work and on the road.

Today, Meridian Daily is published by Meridian Daily Media, LLC, an independently owned company based in San Diego.

What We Cover

Our newsroom is organized into eight sections:

  • World: international news, diplomacy, conflict and global affairs, explained with context and care.
  • Technology: consumer tech, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, the internet economy and the policies that govern them.
  • Business: markets, companies, the economy, jobs and personal finance trends.
  • Society: education, communities, culture, work and the social issues that shape daily life.
  • Autos: new vehicles, electric cars, road safety, the auto industry and the future of transportation.
  • Shopping: independent product research, buying guides and consumer advice to help you spend wisely.
  • Science: space, climate, the environment and new discoveries, from the lab to the field.
  • Health: evidence-based reporting on medicine, wellness, nutrition and public health.

Editorial Independence

Our journalism is independent. Editorial decisions are made by our editors and reporters alone, based on news value and public interest. Advertisers, sponsors and business partners have no say in what we cover or how we cover it, and they never review stories before publication.

Our Shopping coverage is editorially independent as well. Products are selected and evaluated by our editors, not by manufacturers or retailers. If we ever use affiliate links, we will clearly disclose them, and they will never influence our recommendations.

We also use technology responsibly. Any tools that assist our work are supervised by people, and every article is reviewed by a human editor before it is published. You can read more about this in our Editorial Policy.

How We Fund Our Work

Meridian Daily is free to read. We do not have paywalls or paid subscriptions. Our work is funded primarily by advertising, including ads served through Google AdSense, Google Ad Manager and other certified partners. Ads are clearly labeled and kept separate from our editorial content. To learn more about advertising opportunities, visit our Advertise page.
